The new fire legislation includes fire precautions and other fire safety duties which are needed to protect people in case
of a fire in non-domestic premises. The new fire law means that businesses themselves, must in future take responsibility for carrying out fire risk assessments on their premises.
According to research from the insurer Norwich Union, 38% of offices are unaware of the requirements of the FSO, with over one third of
firms failing to carry out a crucial fire risk assessment.
